The History of Integration of Sports at West Virginia University

Norman Hill
Tackle, (Years played-1965-1967), Mount Laurel, N.J.

Hill was nicknamed "Rhino" by his teammates. He was coached by Bill Foltz at Lenape Regional High School. Also, he was an All-State and All-American co-captain at Lenape. He was regarded as an outstanding prospect as a freshman. During his sophomore year he was considered one of the best blockers on the squad in addition to being the fastest lineman. That season he started two games often at offensive tackle. Hill's aggressiveness made up for the disability in his left arm. During his junior year he was shifted back to tackle after playing some guard the previous year. He also lettered in wrestling and placed third in conference tournament.
